Features
Everything between your resume and a finished application.
Propel isn't a job board and it isn't a resume template. It's the layer that sits between the two — reading postings, tailoring your materials, and operating the application forms itself.
01 — Onboarding
It reads your resume like a recruiter would.
Upload what you already have. Propel extracts your current role and skills, and proposes realistic next-level roles as aspirations — nothing is locked until you say so.
- Skills, current role, and seniority pulled straight from your resume
- Suggested next-level roles you can accept, edit, or replace
- Optional context: LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, blog, and a short questionnaire on your working style
- A separate resume per aspiration, generated or supplied by you, always reviewable
02 — Search criteria
You define what 'a good match' means.
Criteria sets are reusable, named searches — not a single fuzzy preference. Run several at once, each with its own roles, skills, exclusions, and locations.
- One default criteria set generated for you at onboarding, plus as many custom sets as you want
- Choose roles and skills from your profile, or add ones specific to that search
- Exclude skills you're done with, and exclude your current employer by name
- Attach a resume per criteria set, matched to the aspiration it targets
03 — Discovery
Every board, searched, every day.
Job boards come configured out of the box. Add your own — internal ATS pages, niche boards, a company's own careers page — and Propel searches them for every applicable criteria set from then on.
- Built-in boards ready on day one, no setup required
- Add any board once; it becomes available across all your criteria sets
- Exclude specific boards per criteria set when you want a narrower run
- Manually queue a posting yourself — as a file or a link — without interrupting anything already running
04 — Tailoring
A resume that actually speaks to the posting.
Before anything is sent, Propel adjusts your resume — and writes a cover letter when the posting asks for one — to reflect the language and priorities of that specific job description.
- Typical mode: cosmetic edits where a genuinely good match already exists
- Aggressive mode: stronger rewrites where the match is partial but real
- Cover letters generated only when the application calls for one
- Every tailored version is saved against the application, not overwritten
05 — Applying
It doesn't stop at 'ready to send' — it sends it.
Propel finishes the application the way a person would: an email with a tailored resume attached, or a computer-use browser agent that operates the actual application website.
- Extracts the recruiter's email from the posting and sends your tailored resume directly
- For web applications, creates an account if needed and securely stores the credentials against that posting
- Fills every field from your profile and resume, uploads the right resume version, and submits
- Retries and self-corrects on validation errors before giving up
06 — Autonomy
Full autopilot, or nothing without your yes.
Autonomy is a setting, not a compromise. Let Propel apply the moment it finds a strong match, or hold every application for your approval first — and cap how many go out per day either way.
- Auto-apply or approval-required, set globally and overridable per criteria set
- A daily application cap with the rest queued in priority order
- Typical vs. aggressive tailoring, independent of the apply setting
- Change your mind anytime — nothing already sent is affected
And the rest
The details that make the automation trustworthy.
The parts you don't see often, but will be glad exist the first time something goes sideways.
Needs-your-input flags
A stalled application is flagged with the exact question it's stuck on — never silently dropped, never guessed at.
Free-text answers, understood
Answer a flagged question in plain text. Propel checks the answer is sufficient before it re-queues the application.
Full history, per application
See the exact resume, cover letter, and every question-and-answer pair used for any application, applied or pending.
Bring your own boards
Point Propel at a board it doesn't already know, once, and it's searchable from every criteria set going forward.
Credentials handled per posting
Accounts created on your behalf during an application are stored securely and tied to that specific posting.
Built for more than one path
Track multiple aspirations at once, each with its own criteria sets, resumes, and application pipeline.
